The Music Scene

While we are waiting for articles/editors we thought we should tell you about one of the best things to happen to music in a very long time.

This technology is new and really exciting. Basically artists submit their cd's and they are reviewed (by 4 year music school graduates, plus senior editors) on 400 different scales. With that in mind now all the user has to do is type in a band/artist that they like. The software automatically creates a playlist. You can add artists to the playlists, all the while the software is analyzing what it is you like about each artist/band/song. If a song comes up that you do not like you can tell the software that you dont like it and it figures that into its equation. If you really like a song you can also tell the software and it adds that to the calculations. Eventually you are listening to almost all music that you like. The other really great thing about this software is that no artist gets anymore weight on the system than another. So for example "if you type in Rolling Stones, a garage band in Ohio, with similiar characteritics, has the same chance at being played as the Stones do themselves." This is really exciting because now you get to hear music that you like and that is potentially very new to you.

We are looking for music groups and artist that are not mainstream. The purpose of this section is to introduce people to groups they may not have heard yet. The actual genre of music does not matter as they will soon be catogorized into their proper sections.
