The Bling Cocktail
That's right I said it, The Bling Cocktail. It sucks that I am the guy who has to tell you, but the fake gold vase that you drink out of at parties when you get completely trashed is no longer the king of bling. Although it was fun at the time and everyone in sight thought you were man, the times have changed. Now the M-bar in the Metropole Hotel is serving the "Bling Cocktail."
What does the "bling
cocktail" have in it? Hehmm, we were just getting to that, "Mr. I'm pissed off
that you just told me I lost my Bling Title." The drink contains triple sec,
lychee, and vodka. Oh yeah, did we forget to mention it also had a .26 carat
diamond attached to an 18 carat white gold chain? That's one of those rhetorical
questions (that means don't bother answering it, smart ass). The hotel owner
admitted, later in the interview, that he actually got the idea from another
bar, in London.
For those of you who do not know what "Bling" is, thank Google define for this
one: "Bling Bling" is a 1999 hit hip-hop song by The B.G., featuring his Cash
Money Records label mates Juvenile, Lil' Wayne, Turk, Baby, and Mannie Fresh.
The song, and its many follow-ups from the label, popularized a hip hop slang
term which refers to expensive jewelry and other accoutrements. The term is
thought to be derived from the onomatopoeia of a visual effect used to denote
light glistening off metal or jewels.
