The great escape.

Four inmates residing in Hawkins County Jail were charged with escape and

introduction of intoxicants into the jail. The story behind these charges is priceless.

All of this occurred at approximately 11 p.m. when two inmates of Hawkins County

Jail discovered that the door to their cell had been left unlocked. Taking advantage of

this security breach they decided to make a break for the nearest market where they

purchased beer. Then they returned back to the jail with the beer. Later in the night two

other inmates escaped due to the same faulty cell locks and went to a different market

and purchased more beer. They brought all of their bounty back to the jail as well.

That’s Jacked Up

“Time changes everything. Except the way we make our smooth-sipping

Tennessee Whiskey, of course.” This statement comes straight off the Jack Daniel’s

website. The problem with this is that it’s not true. Now let me just first say that I am

and will most likely always be a JD fan. Now with that in mind let’s get to the real debate

at hand. Since 1956 when the Brown-Forman Corporation acquired the distillery they

have changed the proof of Jack Daniel’s Black Label Tennessee Whiskey. The original

Jack Daniel’s Black Label Tennessee Whiskey was 90 proof. Then they changed the

original JD and turned it into an 86 proof whiskey. As of a couple years ago they changed

JD once again, this time lowering it all the way down to 80 proof. To all the real Jack

Daniel’s fans out there this has been somewhat of a casualty of a long lasting legacy.

Now you know. More info
